As an adventure photographer human powered expeditions are a real gear challenge. The room, whopping spare battery and solar panel of my 4WD are a relative luxury that are not on offer.
I'm heading off early March for a 16 day sea kayak crossing of the Bass Strait, via the chain of Islands that includes Flinders Island. Now sea kayaks are roomy in comparison to whitewater kayaks and it is always a pleasure to not haul a pack, however when 16 days of food and camping gear are loaded a minimalist photography set is required.
